ABOUT ME

"I cannot remember the books I've read any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I am a lit graduate trying to stay sane as I start reading for my prelim exam. I study 20th-century British and Irish literature with a particular focus on modernism, motherhood, and identity formation. My own identity is formed by Buffy quotes, floral patterns, and baja fish tacos. I'm not as funny as I think I am. I like short sentences, but often accidentally writes ones that are far too long and ramble a bit at the end.

This site is a collection of my notes. It's my summaries and observations about novels, poems, and dramas that I read. It's my grapplings with the theories and criticism that I'm trying to unpack. It's everything I am trying to remember and the extra bits I find interesting. But it's also what I ate. They say incorporating the other senses helps your recall, and taste has always been my favorite sense. I'm hoping that tying cooking and eating will help me digest these couple hundred texts over the next six months or so. Pasta and Pound, sandwiches and Stein, quiches and queries, take-out and T. S. Eliot, casserole and criticism, sticky buns and summaries, and more.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or recipes, drop me a line.
